Toyota Sienna review
The family van created by the Japanese for the American market. The Sienna was
created to replace the Toyota Previa. The Previa was created for the Japanese
market and the problem was there was only four cylinders in the engine, not enough
power for the Americans. They wanted a Mini van that could fit a V6 engine. Thus
in 1998 the Toyota Sienna replaced the discontinued Toyota Previa.

The Sienna has the 3.0L engine (model 1MZ-FE, the same as the one in the Camry).
It has six cylinders, four camshafts and every cylinder has four valves. Models
from 1998 to 2000 had 194 horsepower and starting from 2001 the engine power has
been increased to 210hp by using VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing) technology. The
engine provides very smooth power at any rpm range, and in the same time it's
very quiet.
The
Toyota Sienna was awarded a five star rating in frontal crash tests conducted on it by the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The four wheel ABS is standard
for all trims available. The driver's and the front passenger airbags are standard.
The XLE model comes with driver and passenger side impact airbags. The steering
column was made collapsible to absorb a collision energy. All gauges on the instrument
panel are easy to read, so you don't need to take your eyes off the road for too
much time to check the gauges, consequently you can pay more attention to your
driving.
The Sienna was built with the Toyota Camry in mind. It was manufactured with
the Camrys' chassis, it drives like the Camry only feels a bit heavier. The steering
is very easy and precise, The engine is smooth and quiet but very powerful. The
interior is fill with convenient amenities. Numerous handles, cup holders, entertainment
system and etcetera. Overall, The Toyota Sienna is a mini van that caters to the
American Family. Its convenient, can fit the whole family and has enough power
to haul the trailer or a boat.
